Come Out from Among Them: The Spirit of Grace and the Call to Separation
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”
— 2 Corinthians 6:17–18 (KJV)
There’s something powerful—and deeply personal—about the voice of the Holy Spirit.
He doesn’t merely suggest or advise. He compels.
If you’ve received the Spirit of grace, that grace is not passive.
It doesn’t simply cover your sin—it calls you out of it.
The Spirit of Grace Is the Spirit of Holiness
Many today speak of grace as if it is God's permission to live however we want. But Scripture teaches that grace is transformative—it leads us out of darkness and into the light of holiness.
“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.”
— Titus 2:11–12 (KJV)
Grace teaches. Grace disciplines. Grace sanctifies.
The same Spirit who comforts also convicts.
When you are born again, the Holy Spirit begins a lifelong work of separation—not to isolate you in legalism, but to set you apart for God’s glory.
Come Out from Among Them
In 2 Corinthians 6, Paul delivers a sobering message: separation is not optional for those who belong to God.
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers…”
— 2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV)
The context here isn't merely about marriage—it's about spiritual allegiance.
Can righteousness dwell with unrighteousness? Can light coexist with darkness?
If Christ lives in you, then the Holy Spirit will compel you to separate—from compromise, from corruption, from cultural conformity.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.”
— 1 John 2:15 (KJV)
To “come out” is not an act of arrogance—it is an act of obedience.
It is a declaration that we belong to a holy God who has called us to Himself.
The Beauty of Being Compelled
There is nothing more beautiful than the internal urging of the Holy Spirit.
He doesn't drive us by fear.
He draws us with love and truth.
When the Spirit of grace lives inside you, there will be moments when He whispers, “That place isn’t for you.”
“That relationship is not helping you grow.”
“That habit must go.”
It may not always be convenient, but it is always holy.
And holiness is not legalism—it is liberation.
“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
— 1 Peter 1:16 (KJV)
Separation in a Prophetic Hour
We are living in a prophetic hour of great deception and spiritual compromise.
As the world accelerates toward globalization, moral collapse, and the rise of the Antichrist system, the Church must not blend in—it must stand apart.
“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people,
that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
— Revelation 18:4 (KJV)
This is not a time to walk the fence.
This is a time to draw near to Christ and allow the Spirit to refine us, prune us, and prepare us.
A Call to Repentance and Surrender
Have you been resisting the Holy Spirit's prompting?
Is He calling you to lay something down, to walk away, or to live more fully for Him?
Don’t grieve the Spirit.
Respond to His call with a heart of surrender.
“Quench not the Spirit.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:19 (KJV)
The Gospel Message
-
You are a sinner.
> “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) -
Sin brings judgment.
> “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) -
God’s grace brings salvation.
> “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) -
You must believe and confess.
> “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
Let grace compel you.
Let the Spirit separate you.
Let Christ sanctify you.
Because to be set apart for God is the most beautiful call a soul can answer.
