3 Biblical Reasons Why the Return of Jesus Is Near: A Scriptural and Prophetic Study

“Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”
—Amos 3:7 (KJV)

The signs of the times are not hidden to those who study the Word of God and walk in the Spirit. God has declared the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10), and His prophetic timeline unfolds with astonishing precision. As darkness increases in the world, we are not left in confusion. The Lord has spoken through His Word, and for those who have ears to hear, the return of Jesus Christ is imminent.

This study explores three deeply rooted biblical reasons that confirm we are approaching the Second Coming of Christ.

1. God’s 7000-Year Prophetic Calendar: Declaring the End from the Beginning

“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
—2 Peter 3:8 (KJV)

In the beginning, God established a 7-day creation pattern (Genesis 1–2), ending with a day of rest. This seven-day model is more than historical it is prophetic. The early Church Fathers, including Barnabas and Irenaeus, understood that each day of creation corresponds to a 1000-year span of human history, totaling 7000 years:

  • Days 1–6 represent 6000 years of mankind's labor and sin.

  • Day 7, the Sabbath, prefigures the 1000-year millennial reign of Christ (Revelation 20:4–6), a time of rest, peace, and divine governance.

We are now approaching the end of the sixth day, with the seventh on the horizon. This pattern is not speculation it is encoded in both Genesis and Revelation.

“There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.”
—Hebrews 4:9 (KJV)

Creation’s week reveals our redemptive timeline. We are at the door of the seventh day.

2. Understanding the Present Age and the Age to Come

“To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord…”
—Luke 4:19 (KJV)

When Jesus read from Isaiah 61 in the synagogue, He stopped halfway through the sentence and closed the scroll. The verse He read continues:

“…and the day of vengeance of our God.”
—Isaiah 61:2 (KJV)

Why did He stop? Because He came the first time to proclaim the acceptable year the age of grace, the time of salvation, the Church Age. But the day of vengeance, also called the Day of the Lord, is yet to come.

We are now in the “acceptable year,” a time of mercy when the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and draws people to Christ (John 16:8). But Scripture is clear: this age will end in fiery judgment.

“But the heavens and the earth, which are now… are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment.”
—2 Peter 3:7 (KJV)

Those who teach that all end-time prophecy was fulfilled in 70 AD ignore key prophecies yet to occur:

  • The sky has not rolled back like a scroll (Revelation 6:14).

  • The two witnesses have not stood in Jerusalem, calling down fire (Revelation 11:3–6).

  • The earth has not yet been scorched by fire, nor has the Beast ruled globally (Revelation 13).

We are still awaiting these events. The age of grace is nearing its end. The age to come the Day of the Lord is near.

3. Revelation 13 and the Technological Infrastructure of the Beast

“And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast... and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.”
—Revelation 13:15 (KJV)

Revelation 13 describes a global control system where:

  • A beast (antichrist ruler) is given authority over all the earth.

  • An image is made alive and speaks (AI or a demonic embodiment).

  • A mark is required to buy or sell (digital ID, currency, or biometric tech).

This once unthinkable system is now fully plausible:

  • AI now creates lifelike avatars that speak, learn, and interact.

  • Governments are adopting Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs).

  • Biometric data is being embedded into passports, bank accounts, and medical IDs.

The technology is neutral in itself, but Revelation shows that it will be commandeered by a spirit of lawlessness for global domination.

We are not yet in the mark of the beast system, but its infrastructure is already in place. The warning of Scripture is unfolding before our eyes.

The Ministry of the Two Witnesses: Judgment Before Restoration

“And I will give power unto my two witnesses… and if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth.”
—Revelation 11:3, 5 (KJV)

These two witnesses Moses and Elijah, representing the Law and the Prophets are not New Covenant evangelists. They are harbingers of judgment. Wearing sackcloth, they prophesy during the final years of wrath. Their ministry aligns with the Day of the Lord, not the age of grace.

“For the law worketh wrath.”
—Romans 4:15 (KJV)

This is not a time of gospel invitation. It is a time of retribution. Grace will have passed. The Restrainer (2 Thessalonians 2:7) will be removed. What remains is the execution of judgment, leading to the return of Christ and the cleansing of the earth.

A Call to Repentance: Time Is Short

“Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.”
—Isaiah 55:6 (KJV)

The timeline is converging. Creation’s calendar, global events, and prophetic signs all cry out the same warning: Jesus is coming soon. The only safe place is in Christ.

Repent now. Believe the Gospel. Do not wait until the day of vengeance.

“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
—2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)

The Gospel of Jesus Christ

All have sinned.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23 (KJV)

Sin brings death.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23 (KJV)

Jesus paid the price.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 (KJV)

Confess and believe.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9 (KJV)

Conclusion: Let No Man Deceive You

The signs are not subtle. They are clear and urgent. Do not listen to those who say prophecy has passed. The same Jesus who came in humility will return in power and glory. He is not delaying. He is giving time for repentance.

“Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.”
—Luke 12:40 (KJV)

The age of grace is closing. The King is at the door.

Will you be ready when He returns?
