Loved Before You Were Born: The Eternal Affection of the Father

“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”
— Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV)

In a world that defines worth by productivity, popularity, and performance, the Spirit of the Lord speaks a radical truth: “I love you because you are My child.” This isn’t based on what you do it’s rooted in who He is.

Too many believers secretly wrestle with the thought that they were saved to do things for God, to become spiritual machines that produce good works, bear fruit, or accomplish religious goals. But lets cut through that distortion and restore the foundational truth: God created you first and foremost to be loved.

Created for Love, Not Labor

The voice of the Lord declares, “I did not create you so that you could run around doing My bidding. I created you because I want to share My love with you.” This echoes the original intent of creation. Man was made not to impress God, but to walk with Him in the cool of the day (Genesis 3:8).

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
— Revelation 4:11 (KJV)

God’s pleasure is not rooted in your accomplishments. It is rooted in your presence. He didn’t mass-produce humanity like an assembly line. He handcrafted every detail of your being, knitting you together with purpose and intimacy.

“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made...”
— Psalm 139:13–14 (KJV)

Love That Precedes Performance

God says: “I held you in My heart before you were formed in your mother’s womb.” This is not poetic fluff it is biblical doctrine.

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee...”
— Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV)

This means your identity was rooted in divine affection long before you could ever try to prove yourself. And that hasn’t changed. His love is not upgraded by your obedience, nor canceled by your failure.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8 (KJV)

A Father Who Enjoys You

Let this part settle deep into your soul: “I enjoy you for the same reason, I love you because you are My child.” God doesn’t tolerate you. He enjoys you. This is the kind of love that Jesus revealed through the parable of the prodigal son, not a reluctant embrace, but a Father running to meet His child with joy (Luke 15:20).

This love is not earned. It is received.

The Ultimate Proof: The Cross

Lets reflect on the powerful promise of John 3:16–17:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

— John 3:16–17 (KJV)

The greatest proof of God’s love is not in your circumstances it is in the gift of His Son. Jesus did not come to make you religious. He came to make you His. The cross was not a call to perform it was a demonstration of uncontainable love.

Modern Relevance: Healing an Orphan Generation

Today’s world is filled with spiritual orphans, people abandoned, rejected, or never shown real affection. In our culture of digital affirmation and temporary love, many are starving for what only God can give: unconditional, covenantal, eternal love.

This prophetic message is not just comfort it is correction to a Church too often driven by works, not intimacy. If your Christianity is performance-based, you’ll burn out. But if it’s rooted in being loved, you’ll overflow with true worship and obedience.

A Call to Repentance

Have you been living like a servant trying to earn God’s approval, rather than a child receiving His embrace?

God says: “I didn’t create you to be on a to-do list. I created you to pour My love into you.” If you’ve made your walk about works instead of relationship, today is the day to repent.

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.”
— 1 John 3:1 (KJV)

Return to the truth. You are not a tool. You are a treasure.

The Gospel: Where Love Begins

To receive this love, you must begin where all life with God begins at the cross.

All have sinned.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23 (KJV)

Sin brings death.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
— Romans 6:23 (KJV)

Jesus paid the price.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8 (KJV)

Confess and believe.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
— Romans 10:9 (KJV)

Conclusion

You were created to be loved. Not used. Not ignored. Not overworked.
God delights in you because you are His. He loved you before the womb, formed you with care, redeemed you with blood, and longs to fill you with His presence.

Rest in that love today.
Receive it.
Believe it.

And live from it.
