Let Him In: When God Comes to Knock Down the Walls
“If she be a wall, we will build upon her a palace of silver: and if she be a door, we will enclose her with boards of cedar.”
— Song of Solomon 8:9, KJV
There are walls in your life that God never asked you to build.
Walls of self-protection.
Walls of image.
Walls of survival.
Walls that once felt like safety have now become your prison. But hear this: God is coming to knock them down.
These barriers may have seemed necessary responses to trauma, rejection, betrayal, or shame but to the Lord, they are no match for His love. What feels like a fortress of stone is, in His presence, no more than paper. One word from Him, and every false enclosure can fall.
He doesn’t want the version of you you present to the world. He wants you. The one behind the mask. The one hiding. The one weary of pretending. And He’s not coming to expose you in judgment He’s coming to heal you in love.
From Barricade to Breakthrough
“For the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”
— 1 Samuel 16:7, KJV
Many of us have spent years perfecting an image being “strong,” keeping it “together,” appearing invulnerable. But God sees right through the façade. And still, He draws near. He says: “With me, you don't have to fear being exposed or vulnerable.”
Why? Because He already knows. Every wound. Every failure. Every reason you’ve hidden behind false strength. And He still chooses you. He still calls you out of hiding. Just as He called Adam in the garden, saying, “Where art thou?” (Genesis 3:9), He calls to you now not to shame you, but to cover you in glory.
Let Him heal you with the holy oil of His presence. Let Him restore the broken trust, soften your heart, and reintroduce you to yourself the person He created you to be before the wounds reshaped your identity.
A Tower of Redemption
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”
— Proverbs 18:10, KJV
You don’t need to be your own defender anymore.
You don’t need to be your own shelter.
God is both.
He is not only breaking down your false defenses, but He’s also building something better. A “tower of redemption" an identity rooted not in trauma but in truth. Not in performance but in presence.
Let His glory be your only enclosure. Let your vulnerability be a gateway to deeper intimacy with Him. The world may have taught you to protect yourself, but God teaches you to trust. And trust is what unlocks freedom.
A Call to Let the Walls Fall
This is a season for spiritual honesty. No more pretending. No more self-made righteousness. No more survival-mode sanctity.
Let the walls fall.
Let Him into the places you keep hidden even from yourself. Invite Him into the trauma, the disappointment, the shame.
He will not turn away.
He will not condemn you.
He will restore you.
Let Him teach you to love yourself again not as the world defines it, but as He designed you.
The Gospel of Salvation
You may have tried everything else. You may have built wall after wall to avoid pain. But true healing, true identity, and true freedom are only found in Jesus Christ.
If you don’t yet know Him personally, this is your moment.
All have sinned.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23, KJV
Sin brings death.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
— Romans 6:23, KJV
Jesus paid the price.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8, KJV
Confess and believe.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
— Romans 10:9, KJV
Jesus died not just to save your soul but to heal your heart. To tear down every wall of shame, fear, and guilt and build you up in His love.
Conclusion
God is not asking you to be perfect He’s asking you to be real.
Real with Him.
Real with yourself.
Real about your pain and your need for healing.
He’s knocking. Not to destroy you but to deliver you.
Let the walls fall.
Let the healing begin.
Let Him make you whole.
