The Rapture, the Feast of Trumpets, and the Urgency of the Hour: A Watchman's Study
“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
Matthew 24:42 (KJV)
For centuries, believers have looked to the sky with hope, waiting for the promised return of Jesus Christ. Today, as global events intensify and prophetic patterns align, many are asking with deeper urgency: Could the Rapture occur during the Feast of Trumpets? And more pointedly: Is 2025 a year we should be watching closely?
This study is not a declaration of a date, nor is it a “thus saith the Lord” prophecy. Rather, it is a call to discern the times through Scripture, prophetic patterns, and the divine calendar laid out in the Feasts of the Lord.
Misunderstanding “No Man Knows the Day or the Hour”
“Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.”
Mark 13:31–32 (KJV)
This commonly quoted verse is often cited as a definitive block against watching for specific seasons. However, context matters. Jesus is speaking of the day heaven and earth pass away, not necessarily the Rapture. Revelation 21:1 confirms this interpretation:
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away...”
During His earthly ministry, Jesus spoke from a position of voluntary humility.
“But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.”
Philippians 2:7 (KJV)
Yet now exalted and glorified, Jesus holds all authority and knowledge:
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.”
Philippians 2:9 (KJV)
Jesus knows the time. And according to 1 Thessalonians 5:4, the faithful will not be caught unaware:
“But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.”
Why the Feast of Trumpets?
The Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) is unlike any other feast. It is the only appointed time that:
-
Is known as “the feast that no man knows the day or hour,” due to its dependence on the sighting of the new moon
-
Features the blowing of trumpets (shofars) as a divine wake-up call
-
Is prophetic rather than historic no past event fulfills it
In Leviticus 23:24–25, it is described as:
“a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.”
It is a celebration, a call to assembly, and a holy rest a perfect match for the Rapture, where the Lord Himself descends with a shout and a trumpet:
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God...”
1 Thessalonians 4:16 (KJV)
The trumpet in 1 Thessalonians 4 is not the same as the seventh trumpet in Revelation 11. The Revelation trumpets are blown by angels in judgment. The “last trump” in 1 Corinthians 15:52 refers to the final trumpet of God calling His bride to Himself:
“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound...”
The trumpet at the Rapture is about joyful assembly, not wrath.
The Feasts: God's Prophetic Calendar
Jesus has already fulfilled the first four feasts:
-
Passover – His Crucifixion
-
Unleavened Bread – His Burial
-
Firstfruits – His Resurrection
-
Feast of Weeks (Pentecost) – The outpouring of the Holy Spirit
Three remain, yet to be fulfilled:
-
Feast of Trumpets – The Rapture
-
Day of Atonement – Israel’s national repentance and Christ’s return
-
Feast of Tabernacles – Christ’s millennial reign on Earth
Each feast has both prophetic and redemptive meaning. To ignore this calendar is to miss God's divine rhythm.
Why 2025? The Prophetic Math of the Feasts
From Feast of Trumpets 2025 (around September) to Day of Atonement 2032, there are exactly 2,550 days, matching the prophetic timeline given in Daniel and Revelation:
1,260 days (first half of tribulation)
1,290 days (second half + 30-day cleansing period)
This exact count of days has only occurred seven times since Israel’s rebirth in 1948. 2025 is the seventh, and biblically, the number seven carries enormous significance:
-
God rested on the seventh day
-
Jericho fell after seven trumpet blasts
-
Revelation features seven churches, seals, trumpets, and vials
This convergence is not random. It is divine precision.
Are You Watching?
“And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”
Mark 13:37 (KJV)
Watching is not date-setting. It is obedience. It is a posture of longing, prayer, and readiness. If your faith hinges on whether or not the Rapture happens this September, you are placing hope in a date, not a Person.
Yet Jesus rewards those who long for His appearing:
“Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness... and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
2 Timothy 4:8 (KJV)
The World Stage: Prophecy in Real Time
As we look ahead to September 2025, what else is happening?
-
Talks of dividing Israel’s land (Joel 3:2)
-
Peace and security agreements forming, possibly leading to Daniel 9:27
-
Global unrest, economic shakings, wars, pandemics birth pangs intensify
-
The rise of AI, digital currency, global surveillance, all foreshadowing the beast system of Revelation 13
The stage is being set. The players are in position. The restrainer (2 Thessalonians 2:6–7) is still holding back the lawless one but not for much longer.
A Call to Repentance: Be Ready, Be Found in Christ
“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
Matthew 24:44 (KJV)
Are you living in readiness? Or are you like the foolish virgins who had no oil when the bridegroom came? (Matthew 25)
If your heart is distant, lukewarm, or rebellious, now is the time to repent. The Lord is calling His people to wake up, trim their lamps, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
The Gospel: The Door is Still Open
If you don’t yet know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you need to understand the eternal weight of your decision.
All have sinned.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23 (KJV)
Sin brings death.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23 (KJV)
Jesus paid the price.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 (KJV)
Confess and believe.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9 (KJV)
There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. The door is open now. Enter before it is shut.
Conclusion: The Trumpet Will Sound
The Feast of Trumpets is a divine rehearsal. One day perhaps this year it will be the final fulfillment. Whether that be in 2025 or beyond, the command remains the same:
Watch. Be ready. Long for His appearing.
Let your life be marked by urgency, holiness, and boldness in proclaiming the Gospel. The hour is late. The trumpet is about to sound.
“Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
Revelation 22:20 (KJV)
