Identifying The True Adversary: Love your enemies, bless them that curse you
I. The True Battlefield: Not of Flesh and Blood
Lets begin with a piercing reminder from the Lord: “You are not fighting against flesh and blood.” This echoes one of the most crucial passages in Scripture regarding spiritual warfare.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
The modern Church often forgets this reality. As global conflict, cultural division, and political chaos increase, believers are tempted to identify people as the enemy. But the true adversary operates unseen, through systems, ideologies, and deception designed to pit God’s children against one another.
What we witness today, wars between nations, social media hostility, and infighting within churches, reflects Satan’s ancient strategy of division. The adversary knows that a divided Body of Christ cannot stand.
“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.”
Matthew 12:25 (KJV)
This “Kingdom Reset” the Spirit speaks of is not a political or institutional reform, it is a spiritual realignment. God is repositioning His Church to recognize the true nature of the war we are in: a battle for souls, not for supremacy.
II. Satan’s Strategy: Turning the Saints Against Each Other
We are warned that when believers speak evil of one another, gossip, or slander, they have joined the enemy’s ranks. This is not an exaggeration; Scripture confirms it plainly.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)
Satan’s most effective weapon is not always temptation, it is division through accusation. He is called “the accuser of our brethren” (Revelation 12:10 KJV). When believers use their words to attack one another, they unknowingly echo the voice of the accuser rather than the intercessor.
In today’s digital age, this strategy has reached new heights. Christians tear down other believers on social media, fueled by pride, offense, and misinformation. The Church that was called to be a light to the nations has, in many corners, become a battlefield of words.
James warned us of this:
“But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.”
Galatians 5:15 (KJV)
The result? The enemy gains “two for the price of one”, the one who fell and the one who condemned. Every believer must recognize that when we choose accusation over intercession, we surrender spiritual ground.
III. The Commander of Heaven’s Armies: Christ Our Chief
The Lord declares, “Keep your eyes on Me, the Commander and Chief in this supernatural end-time war.” This language is both militaristic and deeply biblical. In Joshua 5:13–15 (KJV), Joshua encountered “a man… with his sword drawn in his hand” who revealed Himself as “Captain of the host of the Lord.” This pre-incarnate Christ, the same Lord of angel armies, stood as commander of heaven’s forces.
In the same way, the Church today must align with her Commander. He alone directs the battle strategy. No political leader, denomination, or ideology holds the authority of Christ.
“For greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
1 John 4:4 (KJV)
Faith in our Commander’s authority must replace fear of the enemy’s strength. The Lord reminds us that victory is already secured through His resurrection. The Church’s role is not to create victory but to enforce it.
“And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”
Colossians 2:15 (KJV)
In an era where darkness grows bolder, from the rise of global corruption to the normalization of wickedness, the people of God must stand united under their King, fully armed with His Word, His Spirit, and His love.
IV. The Weapon of Love: The True Mark of Kingdom Warriors
The Lord commands His soldiers to “love your enemies and pray for those who despitefully accuse you.” This is not weakness; it is warfare. Love dismantles the power structures of hell because it reflects the very nature of God.
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”
Matthew 5:44 (KJV)
This divine strategy runs counter to human instinct. The world teaches retaliation, but Christ commands intercession. The Church must resist the temptation to fight worldly battles with worldly weapons.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.”
2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV)
Through forgiveness, mercy, and grace, believers disarm the enemy. The greatest victories in spiritual warfare come not through debate or dominance, but through humility and obedience.
As persecution increases globally, from censorship of Christian voices to violence against believers, the true Church will shine brightest when it responds not with hatred but with holiness.
V. The Counterfeit Unity of the World vs. The True Unity of the Spirit
The Lord says, “I am not the author of division, chaos, or darkness. I am a God of unity, order, and light.” This contrasts sharply with the counterfeit unity rising in the world today.
Scripture warns that in the end times, a false global unity will emerge, political, economic, and religious, centered not on Christ but on the Antichrist (Revelation 13). This false peace will seduce many into compromise under the guise of “tolerance” and “harmony.”
Yet, God’s unity is born of truth, not conformity.
“Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
Ephesians 4:3 (KJV)
The Church’s unity is not found in agreement with the world but in alignment with the Spirit. We are united by shared obedience to the Word of God and devotion to Christ’s mission, to bring souls into His Kingdom.
VI. The Call to Kingdom Perspective
The Lord calls His people to “fight from Kingdom perspective.” This means seeing every conflict, crisis, and trial through heaven’s lens. Kingdom perspective understands that:
-
The true battle is spiritual.
-
The true enemy is invisible.
-
The true victory is already won through Christ.
When believers fix their gaze on earthly outcomes, politics, revenge, or vindication, they fight the wrong war. But when they fix their eyes on Christ, they walk in triumph even amid suffering.
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.”
Colossians 3:1 (KJV)
To fight from Kingdom perspective is to extend love when the world demands hate, to forgive when the flesh demands retribution, and to persevere when fear demands retreat.
VII. Modern Relevance: A Church at War Within
This word is painfully relevant today. Across denominations, nations, and social platforms, the Church has fractured into camps—political, cultural, and theological. The enemy rejoices as believers war with one another instead of with him.
The Lord’s warning could not be more urgent. If we fail to discern the true nature of the battle, we risk becoming soldiers in Satan’s army while claiming to fight for Christ.
The “Kingdom Reset” God is initiating is a cleansing of the Bride—a purifying of motives, speech, and alliances. It is a return to holiness, unity, and mission before the soon return of Jesus Christ.
VIII. A Call to Repentance
God’s people must repent, not of mere behavior, but of misaligned hearts. When believers have allowed offense, pride, or division to rule their actions, repentance is the only pathway back to victory.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
This healing begins in the Church. Before nations can be restored, the Body of Christ must first be reconciled. Let us lay down our swords against one another and take up the shield of faith together.
IX. The Gospel Invitation
All have sinned.
• “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” , Romans 3:23 (KJV)
Sin brings death.
• “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” , Romans 6:23 (KJV)
Jesus paid the price.
• “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” , Romans 5:8 (KJV)
Confess and believe.
• “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” , Romans 10:9 (KJV)
Steps to Salvation:
-
Acknowledge your sin before God.
-
Believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
-
Confess your faith and surrender to Him completely.
-
Walk in His love and extend the same grace you have received.
Conclusion
The victory belongs to the Lord of Angel Armies. The outcome of this war was decided at Calvary, but the battle for souls rages on.
The Church must rise as one army, holy, humble, and united, fighting not with carnal weapons, but with faith, love, and truth.
As the world descends into greater darkness, may the Bride of Christ shine brighter, armed with righteousness and anchored in grace.
“Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 15:57 (KJV)
Victory is His, and through Him, victory is ours.
