Come Up Higher: The Call to Carry His Glory

I. The Call to Ascend

Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly calls His people to ascend, to rise from the ordinary into the realm of His presence. This invitation is not merely geographical but spiritual. It is a summons to deeper communion, intimacy, and revelation.

“Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart.”
Psalm 24:3–4 (KJV)

To “come up higher” means to leave behind spiritual complacency and fleshly comfort. It means stepping into a realm of obedience where faith must replace sight. Just as Abraham left Ur without knowing where he was going (Hebrews 11:8), those chosen for deeper purposes must walk by faith into uncharted paths.

This is a call to surrender, an altar call not for salvation alone, but for consecration. It is upon that altar of obedience that God refines His vessels.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Romans 12:1 (KJV)

The Lord’s refining fire is never punitive, it is preparatory. The flame that consumes flesh also purifies faith. Every trial, every test, and every delay was divinely orchestrated to mature the vessel for His glory.

II. The Fire and the Altar: The Place of Refining

The altar is where death gives way to resurrection. When the Spirit leads us to the fire, it is not to destroy but to forge something eternal. God’s greatest anointings are always born in the furnace of affliction.

“But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”
Job 23:10 (KJV)

In biblical history, those who carried great authority first walked through intense refining. Moses spent forty years in the wilderness before confronting Pharaoh. Joseph endured betrayal and imprisonment before ruling Egypt. Even Christ Himself fasted forty days in the desert before His public ministry.

These seasons strip away self-reliance, revealing whether obedience is rooted in love or in reward. The altar demands full surrender, not partial offerings, but a life laid down.

“Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”
John 12:24 (KJV)

When the believer surrenders fully, God fills the yielded vessel with His presence. The altar becomes the birthplace of glory.

III. The Deeper Waters of Faith

The Spirit spoke of waters so deep that one’s feet can no longer touch the ground, a vivid echo of Ezekiel’s vision in chapter 47, where the prophet was led into a river that deepened until it could not be crossed by foot.

“Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in.”
Ezekiel 47:5 (KJV)

These waters represent the increasing depth of spiritual maturity. Many are content to wade in ankle-deep revelation, where control still exists. But those who desire to “come up higher” must surrender control completely, allowing the Spirit’s current to carry them.

In today’s world, marked by global instability, moral decay, and prophetic fulfillment, faith that merely stands in shallow water will not endure. God is calling His remnant to trust Him in the depths where their own footing disappears, for in that surrender lies supernatural rest.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)

When the current of His Spirit carries you, your striving ceases. Ministry becomes overflow. Victory becomes rest.

IV. Carriers of His Glory

Every believer filled with the Spirit becomes a dwelling place of God’s presence. Yet few carry His glory because few are willing to die to self. The glory rests not on giftedness but on holiness.

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
1 Corinthians 3:16 (KJV)

To carry the glory means to walk as a living sanctuary, pure in heart, obedient in will, and yielded in purpose. This is the generation God seeks:

“The hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth.”
John 4:23 (KJV)

The presence of God is not contained in buildings or rituals but in surrendered vessels. Through worship, obedience, and purity, believers release heaven’s fragrance into the earth.

In a culture obsessed with performance, God is restoring the power of presence. He is raising a people who will not minister from charisma but from communion, those whose secret history with Him gives weight to their public witness.

V. The Scrolls of Revelation and Hidden Secrets

The Lord promised to reveal “the secrets held in scrolls until this time.” Scripture speaks of mysteries reserved for the end of the age, when knowledge shall increase and prophetic understanding will be unveiled (Daniel 12:4).

We are living in such a season. Prophecy, once sealed, is now unfolding before our eyes, Israel restored, global systems aligning for one-world governance, and technology converging toward the mark of the beast (Revelation 13:16–17).

The Spirit is releasing deeper understanding to those who seek intimacy over information. Revelation is not for entertainment but for preparation. It is given to those who walk closely with the Lord, for only intimacy grants access to divine secrets.

“The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.”
Psalm 25:14 (KJV)

VI. Dining with the King in Heavenly Places

To dine with God upon Zion’s mountain speaks of communion and covenant. It mirrors Psalm 23:5

“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”

This table is not physical but spiritual. It is a place of nourishment, revelation, and fellowship. God invites His people to dine with Him even as the world descends into turmoil. Those who feast on His presence will not fear famine or chaos.

In the midst of political corruption, wars, and global shaking, the believer seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6) stands unshaken. The world trembles below, but those anchored above rest in unbreakable peace.

VII. The New Wineskin and the Outpouring

Jesus warned that new wine cannot be contained in old wineskins (Matthew 9:17). The Lord is birthing a new move of His Spirit, one that requires flexibility, humility, and transformation. Many cling to outdated methods of ministry or religious structures that cannot sustain the coming outpouring.

The fire and crushing you endured were never for destruction but for expansion. Like a wineskin stretched to capacity, your spirit has been enlarged to contain the new anointing being poured out.

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?”
Isaiah 43:19 (KJV)

The remnant arising in this hour will walk in unprecedented authority, healing the sick, confronting darkness, and releasing prophetic truth that shakes nations. But this authority flows from brokenness, not ambition.

VIII. Modern Parallels: Faith in an Age of Uncertainty

The world stands at a prophetic tipping point. Economies are collapsing, wars and rumors of wars intensify, and artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming life and labor. Humanity has entered an era of technological dominance and moral confusion.

Yet amid this upheaval, God is preparing His end-time army, those who have learned to rest in His current rather than strive against it. They will carry His presence into every sphere, government, education, media, and ministry, releasing light into darkness.

“For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”
Habakkuk 2:14 (KJV)

The call to “come up higher” is not an escape from reality but a commissioning for impact. Heaven’s perspective equips believers to navigate earth’s chaos with divine clarity.

IX. A Call to Repentance

The call to ascend begins with repentance. No one can rise while clinging to sin. Holiness is the ladder that leads to Zion’s summit.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9 (KJV)

Repentance is not shame, it is freedom. It restores intimacy and authority. It removes the barriers that block the flow of His glory. The Lord is calling His people out of compromise and complacency into the fire of purity, for only a purified Bride can carry a pure anointing.

X. The Gospel Invitation

All have sinned.
• “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” , Romans 3:23 (KJV)

Sin brings death.
• “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” , Romans 6:23 (KJV)

Jesus paid the price.
• “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” , Romans 5:8 (KJV)

Confess and believe.
• “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” , Romans 10:9 (KJV)

Steps to Salvation:

  1. Recognize your sin and repent.

  2. Believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God who died and rose again.

  3. Confess Him as Lord and surrender your life to His authority.

  4. Walk daily in obedience, filled with the Holy Spirit.

Conclusion

The Lord is calling His people higher, not into pride or position, but into presence. Those who have endured the refining fire are now being released to carry His glory into a shaking world.

The wilderness has ended. The Jordan has been crossed. The time has come to ascend and dine with the King.

This is the hour to rest in His current, trust His leading, and walk boldly in divine purpose. The Spirit is saying to the Church: “Come up higher, for what I have prepared for you is like no other.”

“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.”
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

The higher you go, the less of you remains, and the more of Him is revealed.
