Open The Door
I. The Knock at the Door: Christ’s Plea for Surrender
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20 (KJV)
The invitation remains: Christ stands at the threshold of every human heart, not forcing entry, but gently knocking, calling for response. This is not the casual knock of an acquaintance, but the urgent plea of a Bridegroom ready to gather His beloved. His Spirit comes not merely to dwell, but to cleanse, renew, and transform. The peace He brings is not of this world, but the very peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7).
In a generation saturated with noise, distraction, and despair, Jesus is calling us to a quiet place, to childlike faith, to awe and wonder again. The world offers counterfeit peace, but His peace “passeth all understanding” and “shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7, KJV).
II. The Role of Prophets and Watchmen in the Last Days
“Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” Amos 3:7 (KJV)
God has always used His prophets and messengers to warn before judgment. Just as in the days of Noah, Jeremiah, and Joel, the Lord sends watchmen to cry aloud. The midnight cry has gone out, a prophetic call heralding the arrival of the Bridegroom (Matthew 25:6).
Modern voices are echoing the warnings of Scripture, yet many scoff, fulfilling Peter’s prophecy:
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?” 2 Peter 3:3–4 (KJV)
Yet judgment has already begun, not only in natural disasters, economic instability, and wars, but in the sealing of hearts. The Lord hears the cries of the saints, pleading mercy over those about to perish.
III. The Sinking Land of Sand: Judgment and the Firm Foundation
“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.” Matthew 7:24–25 (KJV)
This world is crumbling under the weight of its own rebellion. Its systems are like sand, unstable, shifting, and collapsing. The “falling, sinking land of sand” reflects not only geopolitical turmoil, but the spiritual erosion caused by sin and pride.
But those who stand on Christ, the Rock, have no fear. Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord who provides, is also Jehovah-Sabaoth, the Lord of hosts, our shield and defender (Psalm 84:11; Romans 8:31).
IV. The Wicked Will Be Caught Unaware
“For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” 1 Thessalonians 5:2–3 (KJV)
Christ will come suddenly, swiftly, and with perfect justice. The unready, whose hope is entangled in this world, will be caught unaware. They question God’s silence in the face of evil, not realizing that His delay is mercy.
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise… but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)
Still, the sealing of destinies has begun. The time is no longer “soon”, the time is now. Faith is the currency of heaven, and even a mustard seed of faith can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). But great faith activates the armies of heaven. Angels are dispatched on behalf of those who fear Him (Psalm 34:7).
V. Joy in the Midst of Tribulation
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (KJV)
To the faithful, the command is not panic, but joy. Amid chaos, sorrow, and shaking, the Bridegroom says: rejoice. Take time for Me this day. Talk with Me. Read My Word. You are about to cross the Jordan.
This evokes the prophetic foreshadowing of the Exodus, a holy migration from bondage to promise. The Church, the Bride of Christ, is at the brink of divine deliverance. The midnight cry is not just a warning, it is a wedding announcement.
VI. A Call to Repentance and Surrender
“Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him.” Isaiah 55:6–7 (KJV)
The time is now. Not tomorrow. Not when it’s more convenient. Hearts are being sealed. Destinies are being finalized. The Bridegroom’s call is going forth with urgency.
God does not delight in judgment. His heart breaks for those who reject His invitation. But He is just, and justice must come. If we do not open the door, if we cling to the world and its false promises, we will perish with it.
VII. The Gospel Invitation
Scripture is clear:
“All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23 (KJV)
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23 (KJV)
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 (KJV)
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9 (KJV)
Today is the day of salvation. Do not harden your heart. Come to the door and open it. Let the Prince of Peace enter. Let Him cleanse you, comfort you, forgive you, and restore you.
Conclusion
We are living in prophetic days. The midnight cry has gone out, the judgments have begun, and the Bridegroom is nearer than ever. The world is shaking, but those rooted in Christ shall not be moved.
Let every heart examine itself. Let every knee bow. Let every eye look to the skies, not in fear, but in anticipation.
Christ is coming. The door is open. The invitation is real. Time is short.
Answer the knock. Open the door. Step into eternal life.
