Washed And Waiting

I. The Call to Rise and Behold the Glory of God
The final generation is repeatedly summoned in Scripture to lift its eyes from the turmoil of the earth and behold the glory of God. This is not a call to escapism, but to spiritual clarity. Heaven is not a metaphor. It is a promised destination for those who are washed, faithful, and waiting.
“Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.” Psalm 24:7 (KJV)
The people of God are not wandering aimlessly. They are being prepared. Faith has sustained them through deception, pressure, persecution, and exhaustion. That same faith will complete its work.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)
II. The Blood That Saves: From Egypt to the Cross
The imagery of deliverance through blood is foundational to redemption history. At Passover, the blood on the doorposts marked God’s people and separated them from judgment. That event was not only historical. It was prophetic.
“And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you.” Exodus 12:13 (KJV)
Jesus Christ fulfilled this pattern completely. His blood is not symbolic only. It is effectual. It cleanses, redeems, and preserves every contrite heart.
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7 (KJV)
In an age of self-righteousness and counterfeit spirituality, Scripture declares that only one covering protects from judgment. There is no alternative shelter.
III. The Patience of the Saints and the Firstfruits Harvest
Scripture speaks of a people who endure to the end. They are described as patient, faithful, and refined through suffering. They are not spared hardship, but they are preserved through it.
“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” Revelation 14:12 (KJV)
The language of firstfruits points to dedication and nearness to God. In biblical agriculture, the firstfruits belonged wholly to the Lord. Likewise, those who remain faithful in turbulent times are being set apart for Him.
“Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” James 1:18 (KJV)
This generation has endured moral collapse, global instability, economic uncertainty, and relentless spiritual confusion. God sees. None of it is wasted.
IV. Global Shaking and the Breaking of Earthly Power
Scripture does not hide the reality of global conflict in the last days. Nations rise, alliances fracture, and once-dominant powers weaken. Jesus warned that these shakings would precede His return.
“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars… For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.” Matthew 24:6–7 (KJV)
We are witnessing increasing military escalation, fractured alliances, and the erosion of national stability. These are not random events. They are birth pains.
“For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.” Romans 8:22 (KJV)
God’s people are not called to fear these developments, but to discern them. Earthly systems are failing because they were never meant to save.
V. The Sudden Rescue Before the Storm
Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly removes His people before catastrophic judgment. Noah entered the ark before the flood. Lot was taken out before fire fell. This pattern reveals God’s faithfulness to His own.
“The LORD knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.” 2 Peter 2:9 (KJV)
The shelter God provides is not geographical. It is relational. Christ Himself is the refuge.
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10 (KJV)
Those who belong to Him are invited to come now, not later. Delay hardens the heart and dulls discernment.
VI. The Wedding Feast and the Ready Bride
The culmination of redemption is not escape, but union. Scripture frames the end of the age as a wedding. The Bridegroom is ready. The feast is prepared. The only question is whether the guests are ready.
“Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.” Revelation 19:7 (KJV)
Readiness is not perfection, but surrender. It is being clothed in righteousness that comes from Christ alone.
“And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.” Revelation 19:8 (KJV)
This is why Scripture continually calls believers to watchfulness. Eternity begins suddenly.
VII. The Urgent Call to Repentance
The nearness of Christ’s return is not meant to comfort the complacent, but to awaken the sleeping. Repentance is not fear-based. It is mercy-based.
“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.” Acts 17:30 (KJV)
Every delay makes the heart harder. Every excuse tightens the grip of the world. The invitation is open now.
VIII. The Gospel of Salvation
Every person stands in need of redemption.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23 (KJV)
Sin carries a cost no one can pay alone.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23 (KJV)
God answered this problem through love, not force.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 (KJV)
Salvation is received by faith and confession.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9 (KJV)
This is the only door. This is the only way.
Conclusion: Tomorrow Starts Forever
Faith has carried the saints this far. Soon, faith will give way to sight. Rest is near. The Bridegroom is ready. The wedding will begin on time.
Now is the moment to respond. Now is the time to be washed, to be ready, and to enter the shelter God Himself has provided.
Come to the feast. The King is standing at the door.
