Faith That Moves Mountains
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3 (KJV)
The first commandment remains the foundation of all others.
God does not compete. He commands exclusive worship.
“For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.” Exodus 34:14 (KJV)
In every generation, humanity builds substitute gods. In ancient times they were carved idols. Today they are more sophisticated.
Power.
Technology.
Economic systems.
Political ideologies.
National pride.
Personal identity detached from the Creator.
Yet Scripture declares that every idol will ultimately collapse.
“The idols he shall utterly abolish.” Isaiah 2:18 (KJV)
We are entering a period where false foundations are being exposed. Systems once trusted are proving fragile. Institutions once revered are faltering. The exposure of corruption, moral compromise, and spiritual deception is not accidental. It is revealing what cannot save.
I. Judgment Reveals the One True God
When judgment fell on Egypt, it was not random destruction. It was confrontation.
“Against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.” Exodus 12:12 (KJV)
Each plague exposed the impotence of Egypt’s gods. The same pattern repeats in history. When nations elevate themselves against God, their idols fail.
“There is none else, there is no God beside me.” Isaiah 45:5 (KJV)
Many will cry out to systems, leaders, or spiritual substitutes. They will not answer.
“They have mouths, but they speak not… They that make them are like unto them.” Psalm 115:5–8 (KJV)
Only the living God responds.
II. The Remnant in Positions of Influence
Scripture consistently shows God placing faithful servants in strategic positions before upheaval.
Joseph before famine.
Daniel before imperial collapse.
Esther before national destruction.
These were not compromises. They were divine appointments.
“And who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14 (KJV)
When believers operate in integrity, even within complex systems, they become instruments of reform and rescue.
But the battle is not merely visible.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers.” Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
The warfare is spiritual. The victory is spiritual. The authority is spiritual.
III. Put On the Whole Armor
The call is not to panic. It is to prepare.
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11 (KJV)
Helmet of salvation guarding the mind.
Breastplate of righteousness protecting the heart.
Belt of truth stabilizing the core.
Shield of faith extinguishing fiery darts.
Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.
In an era of mental assault, digital propaganda, and moral confusion, guarding the mind is essential.
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God.” 2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV)
IV. Tearing Down High Places
High places in Scripture were centers of idolatry and influence. Today, high places are cultural strongholds shaping thought and policy.
Yet mountains move by faith.
“If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed… it shall remove.” Matthew 17:20 (KJV)
God does not require human might.
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6 (KJV)
As darkness intensifies, light must shine brighter.
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come… and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:1 (KJV)
V. Rest in the Midst of Battle
The paradox of the Kingdom is rest in warfare.
“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.” Psalm 23:2 (KJV)
Even in the presence of enemies, there is provision.
“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.” Psalm 23:5 (KJV)
This speaks of communion with Christ in the midst of global turmoil. While economies fluctuate and governments strain, the believer’s inheritance remains secure.
“In my Father’s house are many mansions… I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2 (KJV)
VI. Identity in Christ
Authority flows from identity.
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.” Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)
Believers do not fight to earn victory. They fight from victory.
“Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57 (KJV)
The Lord of Hosts leads. The remnant follows.
A Call to Repentance
If idols remain in your heart, tear them down now. If compromise has crept in, remove it. If fear governs your decisions, return to the Lord.
“Little children, keep yourselves from idols.” 1 John 5:21 (KJV)
Judgment reveals what we truly trust. Choose wisely before exposure becomes devastation.
The Gospel Invitation
All have sinned.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23 (KJV)
Sin brings death.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23 (KJV)
Jesus paid the price.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 (KJV)
Confess and believe.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9 (KJV)
Turn from idols. Believe in Christ. Receive salvation.
Conclusion
False gods are falling. Systems will shake. High places will crumble. Only one Kingdom endures.
Stand in the armor of God. Rest in the Shepherd’s provision. Walk in the identity given by Christ.
The Lord of Hosts reigns.
