Feed My Lambs

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God.” 1 Peter 4:17 (KJV)

We are living in days of mounting pressure. Nations are unstable. Conflict escalates. Economic systems strain. Cultural tensions rise. Technology amplifies both truth and deception at unprecedented speed. It feels as though the lid is about to lift from a boiling pot.

Scripture prepares us for such seasons. God does not panic in chaos. He purifies through it.

I. The Pressure Before the Harvest

When evil intensifies, it is not always evidence of divine absence. At times, it is evidence of divine allowance.

“Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” Amos 3:7 (KJV)

God permits certain events within the boundaries of His sovereign plan. He allows consequences to unfold so that hearts awaken.

Isaiah wrote:

“When thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.” Isaiah 26:9 (KJV)

The world is witnessing moral decline, open hostility toward biblical truth, and spiritual confusion. Yet Scripture reveals that shaking produces separation and harvest.

“Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” John 12:24 (KJV)

Sorrow precedes fruitfulness.

II. Do Not Lean on Your Own Understanding

In seasons of smoke and dust, clarity seems obscured. Fear becomes contagious. Speculation spreads quickly. Conspiracy and panic compete for attention.

The command remains steady:

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)

When the dust settles after crises, there will be wounded hearts. There will be spiritual orphans searching for truth.

Jesus instructed Peter:

“Feed my lambs.” John 21:15 (KJV)

The Church must be prepared not merely to survive but to shepherd.

III. Purification of the Bride

The Lord purifies before He empowers.

“That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle.” Ephesians 5:27 (KJV)

Refinement involves fire.

“He is like a refiner’s fire.” Malachi 3:2 (KJV)

We are being refined in a generation marked by sorrow. Pandemics have reshaped society. Wars displace millions. Economic instability exposes fragile foundations. Yet through sorrow, the Lord strengthens His Bride.

Transformation is internal before it is external.

“Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2 (KJV)

This is not a time for complacency. It is a time for consecration.

IV. The Narrow Road and the Rich Reward

Jesus warned:

“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life.” Matthew 7:14 (KJV)

The path of obedience has never been crowded. It requires endurance.

“Let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)

There is reward beyond sorrow.

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” 2 Corinthians 4:17 (KJV)

The sorrow of today prepares the glory of tomorrow.

V. Swing Wide the Gates

Scripture declares:

“Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.” Psalm 24:7 (KJV)

Salvation is not retreating. It is advancing.

When darkness increases, resurrection power becomes visible.

“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection.” Philippians 3:10 (KJV)

The Lord is nearer than many perceive.

“The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him.” Psalm 145:18 (KJV)

Faith must be activated.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)

A Call to Repentance

The pressure building across the earth is not random. It is a warning and an invitation.

Examine your heart. Repent of compromise. Return to intimacy with Christ. Do not conform to the patterns of this world. The Refiner is working.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart.” Psalm 139:23 (KJV)

Now is the time to surrender fully.

The Gospel Invitation

All have sinned.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23 (KJV)

Sin brings death.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23 (KJV)

Jesus paid the price.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 (KJV)

Confess and believe.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9 (KJV)

Turn to Christ. Trust His plan. Receive His salvation. Walk in His Spirit.

Conclusion

Pressure is building. Evil appears to be boiling over. Yet when the smoke clears, a harvest of souls will rise.

Do not lean on your own understanding. Do not grow weary. The Refiner is at work. The King is near.

Hold fast to His unchanging hand.
