Come Up Higher: The Call to Carry His Glory

I. The Call to Ascend Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly calls His people to ascend, to rise from the ordinary into the realm of His presence. This invitation is not merely geographical but spiritual. It is a summons to deeper communion, intimacy, and revelation. “Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart.” Psalm 24:3–4 (KJV) To “come up higher” means to leave behind spiritual complacency and fleshly comfort. It means stepping into a realm of obedience where faith must replace sight. Just as Abraham left Ur without knowing where he was going (Hebrews 11:8), those chosen for deeper purposes must walk by faith into uncharted paths. This is a call to surrender, an altar call not for salvation alone, but for consecration.
