A Crown Of Glory

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat.” Matthew 7:13 (KJV)

Throughout the pages of Scripture, humanity is repeatedly confronted with a choice between two paths. One leads toward righteousness and eternal life. The other leads toward deception and destruction.

Every generation faces this decision. Yet the Bible indicates that the final generation will encounter an unprecedented level of spiritual confusion and moral rebellion.

Jesus warned that in the last days truth would be challenged by persuasive voices that appeal to human desires rather than divine authority.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.” 2 Timothy 4:3 (KJV)

In such an environment, discerning truth becomes a matter of spiritual survival.

I. Truth Among the Righteous

The Scriptures affirm that God’s truth remains present even in the midst of widespread corruption.

The righteous are those who walk in obedience to God’s Word and whose hearts are aligned with His will.

“The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” Proverbs 4:18 (KJV)

In every generation God preserves a faithful remnant. These individuals refuse to compromise with the surrounding culture and instead pursue holiness.

The prophet Isaiah described this calling clearly.

“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Isaiah 8:20 (KJV)

Truth does not change based on cultural trends or political movements. It remains anchored in the eternal character of God.

II. The Rise of Deception

While truth remains available, Scripture warns that deception will intensify as the end of the age approaches.

Jesus issued this warning repeatedly.

“Take heed that no man deceive you.” Matthew 24:4 (KJV)

The apostle Paul later described a world in which false teachings would multiply.

“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish.” 2 Thessalonians 2:10 (KJV)

Today’s global landscape reveals how quickly ideas can spread through technology, media, and digital networks. Information travels instantly across continents, shaping beliefs and influencing societies.

While technological advancement offers remarkable opportunities, it also allows deception to circulate on a scale never before seen in human history.

In such an environment, believers must remain anchored in Scripture.

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” John 17:17 (KJV)

III. The Blessed Promise to the Meek

In the midst of conflict and injustice, the Bible provides comfort to those who remain faithful.

Jesus taught that true blessing often belongs to those who endure suffering with humility and faith.

“Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5 (KJV)

This promise reverses the values of worldly systems, where power and dominance often determine success.

God’s kingdom operates differently. Those who walk in humility and righteousness will ultimately receive the inheritance prepared for them.

The apostle James describes the reward awaiting those who endure trials faithfully.

“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life.” James 1:12 (KJV)

IV. A Generation Witnessing Moral Decline

The Bible often speaks about generations that witness widespread moral decline. These periods serve as warnings and opportunities for spiritual awakening.

Jesus described the generation before His return as spiritually blind despite the signs surrounding them.

“When ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.” Matthew 24:33 (KJV)

Modern society faces numerous challenges that cause many to question the direction of humanity.

Conflicts between nations.
Economic uncertainty.
Rapid technological transformation.
Moral confusion and cultural division.

While each of these developments has complex causes, Scripture encourages believers to interpret world events through the lens of biblical prophecy.

The Bible reminds us that God remains sovereign over history.

“The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.” Psalm 103:19 (KJV)

V. The Invitation to Eternal Fellowship

Despite the warnings about deception and judgment, the message of Scripture ultimately points toward hope.

Jesus promised that those who follow Him will receive eternal fellowship in the presence of God.

“In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2 (KJV)

This promise offers comfort to believers living in uncertain times. No matter how turbulent the world becomes, Christ is preparing an eternal home for those who belong to Him.

The reward awaiting faithful believers is described throughout Scripture as a crown of glory.

“And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.” 1 Peter 5:4 (KJV)

VI. The Nearness of the Kingdom

One of the central themes of the New Testament is the nearness of God’s kingdom.

John the Baptist began his ministry with this proclamation.

“Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 3:2 (KJV)

Jesus repeated this message throughout His ministry.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Mark 1:15 (KJV)

This announcement was not merely about a future reality. It was a call to immediate transformation.

The nearness of God’s kingdom demands a response.

A Call to Repentance

In light of these truths, Scripture urges every person to examine their spiritual condition before God.

“Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.” Isaiah 55:6 (KJV)

Repentance involves turning away from sin and turning toward God with humility and faith.

God’s mercy remains available today, but the Bible warns that the opportunity will not remain open forever.

The Gospel Invitation

All have sinned.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23 (KJV)

Sin brings death.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23 (KJV)

Jesus paid the price.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 (KJV)

Confess and believe.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9 (KJV)

Conclusion

Human history continues to move toward the fulfillment of God’s purposes. In every generation people must decide where they will stand.

Some follow the shifting voices of culture and deception. Others choose to anchor their lives in the eternal truth of God’s Word.

The Kingdom of Heaven is not merely a distant promise. It is a coming reality that demands a present decision.

The invitation remains open today: turn to Christ, walk in truth, and prepare for the day when every person will stand before the King of Kings.
