Are You Following Christ or Just Tradition? A Biblical Call to True Faith

 

A Message to Those Who Profess Christ But Don’t Follow Him

The world is filled with people who claim to follow Christ but live no differently than the world. Many go to church, participate in religious traditions, and wear external symbols of faith, yet their hearts remain far from God. Jesus warned of this when He spoke of the Pharisees, saying:

📖 Matthew 15:8-9 (KJV)
"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."

The traditions of men can be deceptive. While some traditions have deep meaning, others lead people away from true relationship with Jesus.

🚨 Ask yourself: Are you truly following Jesus, or are you just following religious customs?

1. The Danger of Empty Religious Rituals

Many people participate in religious ceremonies such as Ash Wednesday, the Eucharist, or various church sacraments, but they do so without understanding the Gospel or genuinely submitting their lives to Christ.

🚨 Religion does not save—Jesus does.

"Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men."

True Christianity is not about going through the motions—it is about a transformed heart.

2. Are You Being Deceived by False Teachers?

Many people follow church leaders, priests, or even the Pope, but neglect the Bible. They trust religious figures over the actual Word of God, which leads them into spiritual blindness.

📖 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (KJV)
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

🔴 The Catholic Church, Protestant denominations, and megachurch movements are filled with false teachers who twist the Gospel for personal gain.

🔴 Many pastors today use AI-generated sermons and soften the message so that no one is offended.

🔴 The Bible warns that in the last days, false prophets will deceive many (Matthew 24:11).

🚨 Are you following a man, or are you following Jesus Christ?

3. The Judgment of Hypocrisy

One of the most misquoted verses in the Bible is Matthew 7:1—"Judge not, that ye be not judged." Many people use this verse to silence Christians who call out sin, but they fail to read the full context.

"For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged... And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?"

🔴 Jesus is not saying we should never judge—He is saying we should judge righteously and without hypocrisy.

🔴 We must correct others with humility while ensuring our own lives are in order.

🚨 A true follower of Christ does not live in willful sin while pointing fingers at others.

4. Religion vs. Relationship: The Call to True Discipleship

Are you just religious, or are you a true disciple of Jesus?

"And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."

A real Christian does not:
❌ Live for money, fame, and worldly success
❌ Follow religious rituals without true repentance
❌ Blend into the world and tolerate sin

A real Christian does:
✅ Crucify their flesh and desires daily
✅ Live in obedience to God's Word
✅ Seek a genuine relationship with Christ

5. Satan’s Deception in the Last Days

Satan wants you to be religious but lost.

"And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."

🔴 Satan’s greatest deception is making people think they are saved when they are not.

🔴 Many Catholics trust in sacraments instead of Christ. Many Protestants trust in church membership instead of true faith.

🚨 If your faith is in a church system and not in Jesus alone, you are deceived.

6. The Gospel: How to Be Saved

📖 Romans 3:23 (KJV)
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

📖 Romans 6:23 (KJV)
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

📖 Romans 10:9 (KJV)
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Steps to Salvation:

1️⃣ Admit you are a sinner in need of a Savior.
2️⃣ Believe Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again.
3️⃣ Confess Jesus as Lord and commit your life to Him.
4️⃣ Repent and turn from sin daily.
5️⃣ Follow Jesus—not a religion, not a pastor, not a church tradition—Jesus alone.

🚨 Religion won’t save you. Your good works won’t save you. Only Jesus saves. 🚨
