Awaken Your Gifts: Trusting God's Call Over Man's Approval

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
—James 1:17 (KJV)

There is something deeply tragic about the number of people who sit on the gifts God has placed inside them. They wait for human approval, worldly validation, and applause from others—while heaven has already spoken. Friend, if God has gifted you, you are already qualified. The only question is: will you step out in faith and use what God has entrusted to you?

You Are Not Waiting on Man — You Are Waiting on Obedience

Many believers today unknowingly chain themselves to the approval of others. They delay their calling because they fear judgment, rejection, or ridicule. Yet Scripture is clear:

“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”
—Galatians 1:10 (KJV)

If you are waiting for family, friends, or society to validate your God-given dream, you will wait forever. The call of God is not subject to a vote.

God's Power, Not Human Permission

The Word of God reminds us:

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
—Philippians 4:13 (KJV)

Strength does not come from human applause. It comes from Christ alone. When you pray, when you walk in obedience, when you trust His Word, there is a surge of supernatural boldness that rises within you. It is not arrogance—it is holy confidence.

And yes, those who do not walk closely with God may mistake your confidence for pride. But remember:

“The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.”
—Proverbs 28:1 (KJV)

God calls His people to live boldly, courageously, and faithfully—not fearfully shrinking back into the shadows of complacency.

Your Gifts Were Meant to Serve the Kingdom

“A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”
—Proverbs 18:16 (KJV)

God gave you your gifts to fulfill a Kingdom assignment, not to impress the world. Every talent, every calling, every burden for ministry, for creativity, for leadership—it all serves a higher purpose: to glorify the King and advance His Kingdom.

But many neglect their gifts, chasing after low, earthly pleasures instead. They exchange divine purpose for temporary distractions, then wonder why their soul remains restless, anxious, and unfulfilled.

God did not call you to a life of mediocrity. He called you to a life of impact—for His glory.

Modern-Day Application: Living Fearlessly in a Fearful World

We live in an age where fear is celebrated and faith is mocked. People spend their lives trying to "fit in" rather than stand out for Christ. But Scripture calls us to be different:

“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
—Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV)

God does not expect perfection. He expects obedience.

When you step out in obedience, even if you feel unqualified, God's power meets you. It is not about being self-made. It is about being God-made.

A Powerful Call to Repentance

If you have been wasting your gifts, if you have been silencing your calling out of fear or insecurity, repent today. Turn back to the One who entrusted you with purpose.

  • Acknowledge His Lordship:

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)

  • Surrender Your Gifts to His Service:

“Whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)

  • Walk Boldly in His Strength:

“Be strong and of a good courage.” (Joshua 1:9)

The Clear Gospel Message

The greatest gift you can ever receive is salvation through Jesus Christ. If you have never accepted Him as Lord and Savior, today is the day of salvation.

  • Recognize your sin: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

  • Believe in Christ: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son.” (John 3:16)

  • Confess and receive Him: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

Surrender to Christ today. Let Him not only save your soul but activate your purpose.
