The psalmist David, a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22), didn’t just ask for direction once in a while—he lived in a posture of ongoing dependence upon the Lord’s guidance and truth.

We live in a culture that celebrates independence and self-determination. “Trust yourself,” they say. “Follow your heart.” But the Word of God speaks differently:

Apart from God’s truth, even our best intentions can lead us astray. That’s why Psalm 25:5 isn’t just a poetic expression—it’s a daily lifeline:

When we try to guide ourselves, we often end up like the expression goes—“running like a chicken with its head cut off.” Chaotic. Aimless. Exhausted. But when God is our guide, He leads us beside still waters and restores our soul (Psalm 23:2–3).

Sometimes we know our attitude isn’t right. We know our emotions are out of line. That’s when we stop, breathe, and pray:

We are not living in ordinary days. The convergence of global instability, moral collapse, and rapid technological change is preparing the world for the rise of a global system of control (see Revelation 13). In these days, we cannot afford to be self-led or casually spiritual.

Jesus warned:

The only safeguard against deception in these last days is to walk daily in the light of God’s Word and presence. If we aren’t guided by His Spirit, we will be swept up by the spirit of the age.

  • A strained relationship?

  • A major life decision?

  • A financial crossroad?

  • A battle with anxiety or anger?

Ask Him. He is faithful.

You were never meant to figure it all out alone. He’s already ahead of you.

  4. Call on His name to be saved.

    “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” — Romans 10:9 (KJV)
