Jesus Still Heals: Power, Deliverance, and the Present Ministry of Christ

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
—Acts 10:38 (KJV)

It is a tragic misconception to believe that the miraculous ministry of Jesus has ceased. Though some claim the gifts of healing and deliverance were reserved only for the early church, Scripture declares otherwise. Jesus Christ is “the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8, KJV). His power has not changed. His compassion has not waned. His authority over demons, disease, and death remains absolute.

Jesus Still Heals the Sick

When Jesus walked the earth, He healed all who came to Him in faith—lepers, the blind, the deaf, the paralyzed, the demon-possessed. He did not merely sympathize; He healed.

“And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them.”
—Matthew 15:30 (KJV)

And He still heals today.

If you are suffering from any disease, infirmity, or chronic condition, Jesus remains your healer. Whether it is cancer, diabetes, chronic pain, blindness, or an unknown condition—Jesus has not lost His power.

Jesus Delivers the Oppressed

Mental illness. Suicidal thoughts. Anxiety. Depression. Addictions. Compulsive sin. These are more than natural disorders—they are often spiritual battles.

The enemy comes to oppress, deceive, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to set the captives free:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me... he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives... to set at liberty them that are bruised.”
—Luke 4:18 (KJV)

If something dark compels you to do what you hate (Romans 7:15), then know this: Jesus is able and willing to deliver you.

Jesus Still Performs Miracles

Scripture is full of miracles that defy natural explanation:

  • Withered hands were made whole

  • Legs were strengthened to walk

  • Blind eyes opened

  • The dead raised

And the early church continued this ministry through the Holy Spirit (see Acts 3:6–8; Acts 5:12–16).

Has the Spirit departed? No.
Has the need ceased? Not at all.
Then why should the miracles cease?

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
—John 14:12 (KJV)

Healing and Authority in the Church

Jesus has chosen to move through His body—the Church.
The Church is not a building—it is the gathered believers in whom Christ dwells by His Spirit. And through this body, healing is still administered:

“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up...”
—James 5:14–15 (KJV)

Do you believe this? Then act on it. Do not suffer in silence. Reach out for prayer. Ask your church to lay hands and anoint you in faith.

A Prophetic Reminder for the Last Days

We are living in prophetic times—an age when fear, disease, and deception are rampant. The world is full of anxiety and decay, yet God has not left us powerless.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.”
—2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV)

The enemy would love for the Church to forget its power and purpose. But the remnant—those filled with the Holy Ghost and uncompromised in faith—will rise. Miracles are returning not as spectacle, but as evidence that the risen Christ is still at work.

Call to Repentance and Faith

Jesus does not simply offer healing—He offers salvation.

If you have not yet turned from your sin and placed your trust in Christ as Savior and Lord, now is the time.

  1. Recognize that you are a sinner. (Romans 3:23)

  2. Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose from the dead. (Romans 10:9–10)

  3. Repent and turn to God with your whole heart. (Acts 3:19)

  4. Receive the Holy Spirit and live by His power. (Acts 2:38)

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
—Romans 10:13 (KJV)

Final Exhortation

Jesus is healing.
Jesus is delivering.
Jesus is raising the dead things in your life.

Do you believe?

Let the church rise in power.
Let the saints walk in boldness.
Let the world see that our Redeemer lives.
