Why Call Him Lord and Not Obey? A Call to True Holiness in These Last Days

"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"
—Luke 6:46 (KJV)

These are the piercing words of Jesus Christ — words that cut through all pretense and reveal the true state of the human heart.
It is easy to say "Lord."
It is another thing entirely to submit our lives to His lordship.

Today, we are living in a critical moment in history — a time when God is calling His true followers to not merely profess His name but to live lives that are aligned with His Word.

The End of Lukewarm Christianity

For too long, many have honored Christ with their lips while their hearts were far from Him (Matthew 15:8). But we are entering a season where the Spirit of God is stirring His people to repentance and to genuine holiness. The days of casual Christianity — of lip service without life change — are coming to an end.

The Apostle Peter reminds us:

"But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy."
—1 Peter 1:15–16 (KJV)

Holiness is not an option for the believer; it is a command. It is the evidence of true salvation. It is the fruit of the Spirit working within.

Being a Set-Apart People

God is raising up a peculiar people in this generation — a people who are visibly different from the world. Paul said:

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you."
—2 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV)

The distinction between the children of God and the children of the world is growing clearer by the day.
It is no longer enough to blend in.
God is calling His church to stand out — to walk in righteousness, in love, in truth, and in power.

The Impact of Obedience

When believers truly live according to God's Word, the world cannot help but notice. Jesus said:

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid."
—Matthew 5:14 (KJV)

Obedience to Christ will impact everyone around you — your family, your friends, your coworkers.
Holiness is evangelism.
A life fully surrendered to Christ is a testimony louder than any sermon.

In these last days, God is using faithful men and women to draw others into His kingdom by the brightness of their obedience and the fragrance of their holiness (2 Corinthians 2:14–15).

A Prophetic Call for 2025 and Beyond

The shaking we are seeing in the world — wars, pandemics, global unrest — is a call to wake up (Romans 13:11).
It is a call for the church to arise in holiness and power.

The Spirit is saying to the churches:

"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."
—Revelation 2:7 (KJV)

This is the year to realign your life fully with the Word of God.
No more compromise.
No more partial obedience.
No more calling Him "Lord" while doing your own will.

A Call to Repentance and Full Surrender

If you realize today that your life has not been aligned with your confession, there is mercy available. Christ is calling you to repentance:

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
—1 John 1:9 (KJV)

  • Confess and forsake sin.

  • Surrender fully to the lordship of Jesus Christ.

  • Be filled with the Holy Spirit to live victoriously.

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
—Matthew 7:21 (KJV)

Today is the day to ensure that your life matches your profession.

The Gospel Invitation

To those who have not yet surrendered to Christ:

  • Acknowledge your sin (Romans 3:23).

  • Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again (Romans 10:9).

  • Repent and trust in Him alone for salvation (Acts 3:19).

The time is short. The King is coming.
Prepare yourself by walking in obedience and holiness, empowered by His Spirit.
