Get Back Up and Just Surrender
“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.”
— Proverbs 24:16, KJV
In the quiet of your thoughts, in the middle of your struggle, the enemy whispers, "You’re a failure. Give up." And for many believers, especially in these darkening times, it feels easier to stay down than to fight through the weight of shame, regret, or spiritual fatigue.
But God says something different.
He says: “Get back up.”
The Enemy’s Strategy: Condemnation
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
— Romans 8:1, KJV
Satan doesn’t need to destroy you to render you ineffective—he just needs you to feel disqualified. That lie that says, *“You lost your temper. You failed again. You’re not good enough to lead, love, or even speak up”—*is the voice of accusation, not conviction.
Conviction draws you to God.
Condemnation drives you from Him.
God Isn’t Looking for Perfect—He’s Looking for Present
“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart;
and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18, KJV
We serve a God who already knows our limitations. He is not surprised by our falls. He doesn’t ask for flawlessness—He asks for faithfulness. For a heart that says, “Lord, I’ve messed up, but I still choose You.”
David, who committed grave sins, was still called a man after God's own heart (Acts 13:22). Why? Because he repented, returned, and kept showing up.
When the Battle Is in Your Mind
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
— 2 Corinthians 10:5, KJV
The battlefield isn’t always external. Often, it’s in your mind. The enemy plants thoughts like:
-
“I’m not a good parent.”
-
“I’ve already failed this marriage.”
-
“I’m not worthy to serve God.”
-
“How can I share the Gospel if I’m still struggling?”
But those thoughts are not from God.
They are traps designed to paralyze your walk and mute your witness.
God’s Will for You Is Bigger Than You
“Being confident of this very thing,
that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
— Philippians 1:6, KJV
Your obedience doesn’t just bless you—it has kingdom impact. When you rise from your failure and keep going, chains break for others watching your walk. When you choose God’s truth over the enemy’s lies, testimonies are born.
Your life, when surrendered, becomes a weapon of light against darkness.
A Word for the Weary: Keep Showing Up
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
— Galatians 6:9, KJV
Don’t let one bad day define your walk. Don’t let the enemy turn a stumble into a permanent stop. Keep spending time with the Lord. Keep opening your Bible. Keep repenting. Keep showing up.
Victory isn’t about how perfect your performance is—it’s about how persistent your pursuit is.
A Call to Repentance: Rise Again
If you’ve fallen—whether in anger, lust, pride, or hopelessness—today is the day to return. God is not disgusted with you. He is drawing you near.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
— 1 John 1:9, KJV
Don't let shame keep you silent. Don’t let guilt hold you back.
Let grace pull you forward.
The Gospel: The Reason You Can Get Back Up
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23, KJV
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8, KJV
The Gospel is not a message for the perfect—it’s the rescue plan for the broken. Jesus died for you, knowing every failure ahead of time. And still, He invites you to walk in His righteousness, not your own.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved.”
— Romans 10:9, KJV
Final Word: You're Not Disqualified—You're Destined
You may feel disqualified.
But God says you’re chosen.
You may feel stuck.
But God says you’re being strengthened.
You may feel like giving up.
But God says, “Get back up—I’m not done with you yet.”
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
— Philippians 2:13, KJV
So rise. Repent. Keep walking. There’s more in you—because He is in you.
