Do You Know Him?

I. True Discipleship: More Than Symbols

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 7:21 (KJV)

Many today wear outward symbols of faith, crosses around necks, fish on bumpers, Scripture on shirts, but lack inward transformation. The Lord sees beyond appearances, discerning the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). The hour has come for self-examination. Do we know Him, or do we merely claim His name?

Christ declares in Matthew 10:34:

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." Matthew 10:34 (KJV)

The gospel divides. It confronts. It exposes. And it calls for allegiance that costs everything.

II. The Sword of Judgment: Crushing Hypocrisy and Pleasure-Seeking

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves... lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God." 2 Timothy 3:1–4 (KJV)

Modern culture exalts personal indulgence. The pursuit of what tastes good and feels good has become a false gospel. But Christ comes with a sword, to divide light from darkness, holy from profane, truth from error. He tramples the prideful and lays low the selfish. His justice burns against those who claim His name yet live for themselves.

Amos 5:21–24 declares:

"I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies... But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream." Amos 5:21, 24 (KJV)

The Lord is not impressed by religious show. He is calling for righteousness, mercy, and justice.

III. Neglect of the Needy: A Condemnation of Comfortable Christianity

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." James 1:27 (KJV)

To ignore the poor while securing our own comfort is sin. The Lord rebukes those who are unmoved by the homeless, the orphan, the widow. He condemns selective compassion that only prioritizes "our own."

Proverbs 21:13 warns:

"Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard." Proverbs 21:13 (KJV)

IV. Waters Rising: Global Judgment and the Fall of Nations

"The Lord shall roar from on high... A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the Lord hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh... and the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth." Jeremiah 25:30–33 (KJV)

The signs are clear. Waters are rising. Floods, fires, pestilence, and death sweep through the nations. America, once a beacon of liberty and justice, is now failing on both fronts. The Lord’s judgment is not restrained. His Word stands sure: righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverbs 14:34).

The fire comes next. Isaiah prophesied:

"For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind... for by fire and by his sword will the Lord plead with all flesh." Isaiah 66:15–16 (KJV)

V. The Righteous Remnant and the Coming Redemption

While judgment falls, a remnant remains, faithful, washed, clothed, ready. Their garments are white, unstained by compromise. These are those who know His heart, not just His name. They await His sudden return, His “snatching away”, the harpazo, to places prepared for them in glory (John 14:1–3).

"Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." 1 Thessalonians 4:17 (KJV)

VI. Hold Fast: Encouragement to the Faithful

"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." 2 Timothy 2:3 (KJV)

To those who endure, He gives peace. He says: Stay the course. Do not let any man damage your faith. Let no trial, temptation, or lie turn your heart. He is our high tower (Proverbs 18:10), our salvation (Psalm 62:6), and our sure reward.

"He that overcometh shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life." Revelation 3:5 (KJV)

VII. A Call to Repentance

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)

Repent. Turn. Fall on your knees. Forgiveness can still be found. But time is running short. His wrath will not be delayed forever. His judgments are righteous and sure. Come out from the sins of comfort, pride, and neglect. Turn to the living God while there is yet time.

VIII. The Gospel Invitation

All have sinned.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:23 (KJV)

Sin brings death.
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 6:23 (KJV)

Jesus paid the price.
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:8 (KJV)

Confess and believe.
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Romans 10:9 (KJV)

Conclusion

The sword has been drawn. The waters are rising. The fire is near. America is crumbling under the weight of its rebellion. But Christ is calling still. The remnant is ready. Will you be among them?

Repent. Believe. Be clothed in white. Time is nearly up.
