No time to perform good works. No chance to earn God's favor. Yet Jesus welcomed him into Paradise that very day. His story stands as one of the clearest demonstrations that salvation is entirely by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. A Man with Nothing to Offer Luke records that two criminals were crucified alongside Jesus. At first, both mocked Him (Matthew 27:44).
