Batten Down The Hatches
I. The Earth Is Being Shaken to Be Set Right
“For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth... and I will fill this house with glory.” Haggai 2:6–7, KJV
We are witnessing a global upheaval unlike any before. Governments are unstable, economies are faltering, and the natural order is being disturbed. But what appears to be chaos is divine calibration. God is not dismantling for destruction’s sake. He is preparing the earth for His glory. The foundations of the world are being shaken so that the unshakable Kingdom of Christ may be revealed.
This spiritual flipping is causing many to abandon their only safety net, Jesus Christ. The deception is strong. Yet for those with spiritual discernment, this shaking is a trumpet call to run to the Rock.
“And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.” Isaiah 33:6, KJV
II. Making the Way Straight
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.” Mark 1:3, KJV
Now is not the time to shrink back. The Church must rise in boldness, clarity, and compassion. We are called to remove every stumbling block that keeps others from Christ. Whether fear, false doctrine, or cultural compromise, the bride must prepare the path.
“Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low... and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.” Luke 3:5–6, KJV
The coming of the Lord is not a distant myth. It is near. We must labor to clear the way, speak the truth in love, and hold fast the Word of Life.
III. The King Is Coming: All Will Bow
“For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” Romans 14:11, KJV
Every tribe. Every tongue. Every nation. None will escape the Lordship of Christ. While some await His return with dread, others look with longing. But all will bow. The decision is whether we do so now in surrender, or later in judgment.
IV. The Darkness That Marks the Beginning of the End
“For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:2, KJV
The world is approaching a threshold moment. Scarcity will grow. Conflict will erupt. Fear will multiply. But believers must not be shaken.
This is the night before the dawn.
Even as gross darkness sets in, God’s promises remain unchanged. His light will shine brighter through those who remain rooted in Him. Now is the time to batten down the hatches, not with carnal weapons, but with spiritual preparation.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” Psalm 27:1, KJV
V. Trust the God of Miracles
God has not changed. His power is not diminished. His care is not delayed.
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8, KJV
The same God who parted seas, fed multitudes, raised the dead, and multiplied oil is the One who now promises to care for you. His supernatural provision is not a past story. It will become your present reality.
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19, KJV
He will provide breath, bread, shelter, and strength. But more than that, He will provide Himself.
VI. Anchor to the Rock and Wear Your Armor
“The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer.” Psalm 18:2, KJV
We must now cling to Christ like never before. His Word must be our daily sustenance. His promises must be our meditation. His Spirit must be our guide. Storms are coming. But the one who builds on the rock will not fall.
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11, KJV
We are entering days where deception will be sophisticated and seductive. Unless we are clothed in truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word, we will falter.
“Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.” Psalm 119:114, KJV
VII. Walk in Shalom Through the Storm
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7, KJV
Lawlessness will increase. Civil unrest will rise. Global conflict will stir. But Christ’s presence does not leave His people. His shalom is not circumstantial; it is supernatural. He is in us, and we are in Him.
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” John 14:1, KJV
Let us rest, not in our surroundings, but in our Savior.
VIII. The Narrow Way to the Returning King
“Enter ye in at the strait gate... because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life.” Matthew 7:13–14, KJV
The way is narrow. Many will be tempted to veer left or right, to the ease of compromise or the pride of extremism. But Christ commands us to stay the course. Eyes fixed on Him. Faith anchored in Him. Following the One who authors and completes our journey.
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.” Hebrews 12:2, KJV
The Call to Repentance
Now is not the time to delay. The signs are clear. The warnings are sounding. The window is narrowing.
All have sinned.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23, KJV
Sin brings death.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23, KJV
Jesus paid the price.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8, KJV
Confess and believe.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9, KJV
Conclusion: Hold Fast. The Bridegroom Comes.
We are in the final stretch. Darkness will intensify, but so will the light of the remnant Church. Let your life burn with holiness. Keep oil in your lamp. Be found faithful, watchful, and unshaken.
“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” Matthew 25:13, KJV
Let the Bride prepare. Let her shine. Let her endure.
He comes quickly. Be ready.
